I was blessed to grow up in the foothills of California’s Sierra Nevada. There, I spent my youth exploring the woods atop my mustang pony. Summers found me down on the banks of the Yuba River, swimming and hiking the same trails used by the gold miners in the 19th century and backpacking in John Muir's 'Range of Light': the high Sierra. Winters were spent venturing up to the snow, enjoying the quiet solitude of backcountry nordic ski trails. At night, or when the weather was fierce, I’d hunker down in my crafts room, where I would draw, paint, knit and sew, designing my own clothes and jewelry.

Fast forward twenty years, and I’m still enjoying nature and using it as inspirations for my artwork. After about twelve years of college, I was ready for some adventures which have included being chased by a moose in Idaho, tracking black bears by moonlight, mucking about in carnivorous plant bogs, dodging falling trees in a lightening storm, marking pollinators in alpine meadows and catching sharks in San Francisco Bay. Thus my artistic inspirations come from a lifetime as an avid observer of nature and her colorful & inquisitive inhabitants.

Between jobs, I enjoy traveling to exotic locales that offer that special combination of excellent food, lively music and beautiful nature, which have included adventures to Turkey, Israel, Mexico, Hawaii and the Caribbean. I also love snowboarding, backpacking, scuba diving and cruising on my Harley Davidson. I enjoy sharing my love of nature & art with children. I develop and teach customized educational programs that combine the two disciplines and inspire kids to respect nature through gaining an appreciate of her fragile beauty.
