Rhinoceros Education and Sketching Workshops

In honor of World Rhinoceros Day, which is observed annually on September 22nd, I’d like to share some replays of live workshops I’ve taught on rhino biology and how to create realistic sketches of them.   You’ll learn some interesting facts about both Indian and African rhino species, where they live, their behavior, their anatomy, and the threats they face.

Then I’ll lead you through step-by-step demonstrations of drawing both an Indian/Greater One-horned Rhinoceros and an African White/Square-lipped Rhinoceros. So gather some pencils and paper to follow along. Enjoy!

As an artist and environmental educator, I enjoy creating resources to help educate youth about wildlife conservation issues.
Feel free to DOWNLOAD and print as many copies of the rhinoceros coloring page as you’d like to share with the children and students in your life.

Rhinoceros Conservation and Education Organizations

Many dedicated individuals and organizations are working hard to educate the public, fight poaching, conserve habitat, rescue and rehabilitate rhinos, and much more. Below you’ll find a list of just some of the groups where you can learn more about rhinos and support their important work.
