Celebrating Bees on World Bee Day
On May 20th we celebrate World Bee Day, an occasion to recognize their important roles in nature and in helping to produce our food by pollinating our crops!
The United Nations declared May 20th to be World Bee Day and this specific day was chosen because it is the birthday of Anton Janša, the founder of modern beekeeping and a native of the country of Slovenia. May is also a perfect time of year to look for bees as they perform their life-giving work of pollination!
