Giving back to my community, both locally and globally is an important priority for me. Below you’ll find a few of the organizations I’ve given my time and funds to.
March 8-10th, 2019: Teaching free bird sketching workshops for adults and kids at the Vallarta Bird and Nature Festival in Mexico.
In my kids class, participants will learn the parts of a bird using the handouts I designed in both Spanish and English and learn about the amazing diversity of birds in their local area, including many regional endemics that live nowhere else in the world!
February 2018: I taught a bird sketching workshop for a youth group in Honduras; Los Artesanos y Guias de El Pino, and donated $300 worth of art supplies to them for future projects and $500 of supplies for their education center.
I’ve created most of the content of this website, including the nature education and art tutorials, as a free service for my global community of nature lovers, educators, and students. And the few products I do offer for sale help support my donations to the habitat restoration organizations I come to know in my travels. I also donate my time teaching free workshops and creating educational materials for nature conservation organizations, with a focus on those in developing countries.
If you believe in my work and my mission, I invite you to make a small donation to help broaden and deepen the work I can accomplish. Thank you!
