Learn all about the fabulous world of mushrooms and how to identify them in my sketching tutorial below.  I’ll first share some fun facts about the Kingdom Fungi and their importance to humans and the ecosystem. Then we’ll go over the parts of gilled mushrooms to help you learn to identify wild fungi in the field as well as to help you create more accurate illustrations of them. Lastly, I’ll lead you through the steps I use to sketch a species of poisonous mushroom, Amanita muscaria, the iconic toadstool of old world fairytales, which is also common in North America.

Follow along with me! Get a pencil and paper or download the Let’s Sketch Mushrooms cheat sheet as seen below the video, where you can create your sketch. I filmed this video live on Facebook, so you’ll notice that I’m answering questions from the audience.
