Pitcher Plants of Borneo
I’ve been lucky to observe many species of carnivorous plants out in buggy bogs and water-logged wetlands like the ones pictured below on the island of Borneo. Borneo has over 30 species of pitcher plants in the genus Nepenthes, distributed in a wide variety of habitats.
The island is the world’s center of diversity for this group of carnivorous plants. I found them both in the highlands of Mount Kinabalu and the lowland rainforests of the Kinabatangan River delta, where I filmed the video below.
