Day #4: Foundational Techniques
In the video below, I share some very basic foundational techniques for handling your paintbrush and getting to know how the colors in your palette interact with each other. Even if you’ve had some experience painting before, I recommend trying these exercises, especially if you are new to handling the water brush that I’m using in this video.
You can think of these exercises as good ways to improve your hand-eye coordination and to warm up before you start a painting session. You can also use them whenever you get new brushes, paints or papers since they all interact with each other in novel ways.
So, gather your art materials and follow along as I demonstrate some brush and painting techniques. I mention using a spray bottle to wet your palette so you may want to get one of those too.
