Butano State Park Project

Design of Butano State Park’s Interpretive Center

This was my first big project way back in 1997. I created all the interpretive exhibits for Butano State Park’s new nature center in California. This included nine large panels on habitats of the park as well as display structures I built (with the help of my dear old dad, a carpenter by trade who passed away in 2011 at age 90).
For the panels, I worked with the rangers to develop the interpretive message, wrote the text and silkscreened it on to the panels (my how things have changed!) and used acrylics to paint the scenes of plants, animals, and fungi of the park.
