Celebrating Aquatic Animals!

April 3rd is a day dedicated to showing appreciation for and highlighting the significance of aquatic animals. According to the Aquatic Life Institute, the occasion was launched by the Aquatic Animal Law Initiative as part of the Animal Law Clinic and Center for Animal Law Studies, this day is all about raising awareness through law, policy, education, and advocacy to meet the immense challenges that aquatic face.

Below you can find links to many of my stories, resources, and sketching workshops on aquatic animals from both freshwater and marine environments around the world. Enjoy!

Sea Turtles, Clownfish, Boobies, oh my!

Below, you’ll find a recording of a live online video workshop I taught in celebration of World Oceans Day in which I lead you through five demonstrations of sketching such creatures as a clownfish, a shark, an orca, a sea turtle, and a blue-footed booby.

All you need to participate is a pencil, and paper and you also may wish to download the high-resolution sea creature photos that depict the species that we sketch together in the video.
